Texas Shoreline: A Mission to Protect Our Oceans and Inspire Change

Meet Brad: The Heart Behind Texas Shoreline

Hi, I’m Brad, the founder of Texas Shoreline, and I’m on a mission to protect our oceans and make a real impact in the fight against single-use plastics. After retiring, I wanted to dedicate my time to something meaningful, something beyond the superficial ocean brands that weren’t driving real change. That’s why I started Texas Shoreline—to take action, educate, and build a community that cares about conservation.

A Mission Fueled by Passion

Our journey began with a simple idea: to tackle the plastic crisis affecting our shorelines. Through community-driven initiatives, volunteer efforts, and awareness campaigns, we’re not just talking about change—we’re making it happen. Whether it’s through educational outreach, cleanup events, or partnering with businesses to promote sustainable alternatives, our focus remains on making a tangible impact.

Why It Matters

Our oceans are drowning in plastic, and it’s harming marine life, coastal communities, and even our food chain. From plastic bottles and bags to abandoned fishing gear, the damage is visible and growing every day. But I believe that by working together, we can protect our precious Gulf Coast and ensure a healthier environment for future generations.

A Look at Who We Are

At Texas Shoreline, we stand for:

  • Sustainability: We promote reusable and biodegradable alternatives to single-use plastics.

  • Community-Driven Efforts: Whether it's volunteering for beach cleanups or attending our educational events, we thrive on community support.

  • Conservation: Protecting the marine ecosystem is at the core of everything we do.

What Drives Me

Beyond the mission, I value my family and free time, spending time doing what I love—golf, boating, fishing, and pickleball. These hobbies fuel my passion for protecting our waters because I want future generations to enjoy these same experiences.

Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone

Starting a nonprofit after retirement wasn’t easy. It took a leap of faith, dedication, and a lot of learning. But nothing worth doing ever comes easy, and the journey has been incredibly rewarding. Seeing the impact we’ve made so far proves that stepping outside your comfort zone is always worth it.

Our Goals Moving Forward

Our short-term focus is increasing awareness and education about the devastating effects of plastic pollution. Long-term, we aim to grow Texas Shoreline into a recognized brand along the Texas coast—known for being stewards of the environment and champions for marine life.

How You Can Get Involved

We believe everyone has a role to play in protecting our oceans. Here’s how you can help:

  • Join a Cleanup: Be part of our next event and help remove plastic waste from our beaches.

  • Spread Awareness: Share our message and encourage others to make eco-friendly choices.

  • Support Sustainable Alternatives: Ditch single-use plastics and choose reusable products.

Let’s Make Waves Together

Our goal is to build an engaging and trustworthy community where we can inspire, educate, and take action. Texas Shoreline is more than just a nonprofit; it’s a movement to safeguard our environment for generations to come.
